If you’re like us - fantasy isn’t just your preferred genre in literature and film. It’s likely also where your time and effort flows in regards to hobbies and crafts. But sometimes you need a little inspiration when the urge to start a new project hits. Here are some of our favorite creators whose projects bring the genre of fantasy to life through art, terrain, and storytelling.
-
Nerdforge

Martina and Hansi mix creativity, fantasy, technical skill, and pure chaos in the best way possible. From building massive leather bound books to crafting cozy medieval rooms straight out of a wizard’s tower, every project feels like a quest completed. Their attention to aesthetic and storytelling makes every upload worth the time invested as a viewer.

North of the Border

Adam from North of the Border brings a friendly sense of humor to high-level sculpting and model making. He takes pop culture icons—everything from fantasy creatures to cursed memes, and turns them into beautifully weird and original sculptures. It’s part art, part soothing voice over and completely original. His is one of our favorite channels to put on while dozing on a lazy extended weekend. -
Christopher Claflin

We had to throw a bone to one of our founders: Chris’s work blends massive builds with storytelling and lore. An executive desk sized 3D-printed Westeros, or a 10,000 piece Helm’s Deep diorama, each project aims to remind us why we fell in love with fantasy in the first place. These builds are equal parts craftsmanship, obsession, and love letter to the worlds that shaped us. -
Real Terrain Hobbies

Real Terrain Hobbies is where patience meets perfection. It’s an older channel that hasn’t hade many recent uploads - but it’s 100% worth checking out. Luke’s builds turn ordinary foam and plaster into breathtaking landscapes straight out of your favorite RPG campaign. He’s a master of realism. Every rock, tree, and riverbed feels real and his builds usually tell an interesting story behind the world he’s building. Watching his process is both relaxing and inspiring; by the end of an episode, you’ll feel convinced you could build an entire kingdom out of insulation foam and coffee stirrers with little to no experience. -
Squidmar Miniatures

Miniature painting doesn’t get more cinematic or accessible than Squidmar Miniatures. Emil and his team merge elite painting skills with top-tier production quality and storytelling. This channel is both great to learn from - but also just a fun watch. From massive collaborations to wild restoration challenges, Squidmar proves that painting tiny warriors can feel as epic as the battles they fight in. It’s artistry, competition, and community, all wrapped in one beautifully channel that we love to watch.
