The origins of Knightweave go back a decade before our launch in 2024.
In the fall of 2012 I was running Cross Country and Track for Utah Valley University. Being spring and fall sports it's common for runners to bring blankets to stay warm on the bleachers or infield while waiting for their races to start - and wanting something more stylish and cool than a random blanket, I asked Erica to make me a fur lined cloak. We had just been married 2 months before and she jumped on the idea as she had just inherited her mom's old sewing machine.
A few weeks later I had my cloak around my shoulders protecting me from the cold but opening myself up to relentless bullying and laughs from the rest of my team mates. It clearly wasn't time to bring cloaks back yet. BUT - it quickly became one of my favorite possessions and I used it constantly for over 10 years, replacing clasps, repairing stitching - patching holes... and I wanted to share my best tips and tricks with you for getting the longest life span possible out of your new cloak. Check out the video below for best practices on caring for your cloak.
