Every figure below is a measurement of the dustcoat itself, not of the body. The easiest way to size a coat is to take one you already own that fits the way you like, lay it flat, and compare its measurements against the chart.

How much room to add over your chest.
Over a shirt: add 4 to 6" (10 to 15cm) to your chest measurement.
Over layers: add 6 to 10" (15 to 25cm). A dustcoat is outerwear, so it needs room for a tunic or jumper beneath. This is the fit we recommend.
Close to the body: add 2 to 4" (5 to 10cm), if you intend to wear the coat over little more than a shirt.
Chest circumference determines your size. Chest is measured flat, then doubled. Garment length runs from the highest shoulder point down to the hem. Sizes do not step up evenly, so use the chart rather than assuming your usual size.
